Do It Anyway - Slavery Still Exists

Nov 16, 2018

What's up, everyone? We're on Do It Anyway week 2. The headline says slaves still exist. Slavery still exists, it does and I'm going to prove it to you.

So, do it anyway, my name is Alan Belcher, just finished up some training with some of the UFC fighters that I work with.

For those of you who don't know who I am, I'm a former UFC fighter that is now an entrepreneur. I coach business owners. I teach them how to use social media, run Facebook and Instagram ads, scale up their business.

And I help them through an entrepreneurial journey. There is a lot of ups and downs and roller coasters. There's an emotional roller coaster and I've been there.

I promise you, I've been broke so many times, I can't count it on both hands. I guarantee you, I've been in the lowest of lows, I've had a terrible mindset before, blamed other people.

And that's why I chose to do this and get people to do it anyway. Do it anyway, it's a mindset, so let's rock and roll.

So, 2016, I did the daily show every single day, I was consistent and committed to it and it was called Hustle Jitsu.

Those of you that came from that, they started following me in Hustle Jitsu. That's probably when you first learned that I was an entrepreneur and I was a business coach.

I was making that transition and by the end of that year. There were so many struggles that came from growing and changing.

I went from being one of the best MMA fighters in the world to losing my last 2 fights. Losing my ability to fight more because of my eye injury.

Just so you know, I was getting into something emotionally, not financially. Business was good at the end of the year, it really was.

I got into a really bad place and went through a divorce. That just created this downhole spiral toward the end of 2016 was not pretty.

So, I'll promise you, I was being kicked in the face in the grab on. I've been bullied and abused and homeless in the early days, living in my red jeep, all the way up to early 22 years old.

Las Vegas hanging out with Dana White, you have there and being someone you know. Some people would say, "young superstar coming up" all the way back down to the lowest of lows, and then back up to a million dollar business, and then back down.

I promise you, I got some stuff to share with you.

So, you guys ready for this? It's Monday, do it anyways and mindset, for instance, if someone says to me, "I don't have time", my reply would be, “do it anyway”.

If someone says, "I don't have the money", I would say “do it anyway”.

It's a mindset and whenever you get that do it anyway mentality, you start to take action. And the action is what's going to get you the results that you want.

So, how does slavery still exist?

Well, see you guys know what a vice is? A vice is a kind of like a habit that you fall, you run to whenever you have some pain. For some of us, it may be alcohol, some of us may be drugs, some people it may be as simple as our cellphone.

Want to battle it up, I battle with non-productive social media. That's one thing that you battle with every day. If you don't recognize the addiction there, then you need to have a reality check.

Because most of us, in this day and age, in 2018 it's so easy to be addicted to things. Everything is just designed to make you addicted to it. The food that we have has extra chemicals, the social media platforms are designed to make you addicted.

So, think about it.

What is your vice and are you a slave to that?

So, when I say slavery still exists, a lot of us are slaves and more slaves to the comfort of whatever it may be. It may be pornography, that is painful to even say but I'm here to give you a reality check.

The do it anyway mentality is about reality and taking responsibility. And realizing that we're the only person that can change our situation.

So, if you're a slave to pornography or you're a slave to scrolling on your phone or drinking alcohol. What is something else that you might be a slave to?

Maybe you're in a relationship and you're a slave to that person's attention, that's the only thing that can comfort you. That right there will make that other person run so fast for the hills and then you'll be left alone.

So, I'm going to tell you guys how to solve this.

Number 1, being valuable by yourself. You don't need someone else, you don't need any help. This hardship type of things, this struggles that we get into.

Abusive dad was abusive to mom and your parents got a divorce. My dad left when I was 2 years old, my mom is on drugs, these aren't necessarily my story but other people's stories.

I've been through my share of stuff like that but all these things are a blessing. They're a blessing and once you learn to be grateful for that stuff, then everything starts to change.

Everything starts to slowly change.

So, take these struggles and count them as blessings. Recognize whenever you're being a slave to this comfort. Maybe it's food, I battled with that, everyone has battled with that.

When you get in a bad stressful situation, your anxiety is high, you run straight to food or you got to have a drink. Think about this and I'm giving you these different scenarios because for a lot of people, they get what I'm saying but they'll say it isn't for them.

It is for you. I guarantee you, it's for you.

It may be as simple as it's Monday, the week starts and it sucks. So, what are you looking for? You're looking for comfort, complaining to other people when getting the feedback from them.

You're looking for 5'oclock so you can go in and open a beer or have a glass of wine. Are you a slave to the bottle of wine? I'm talking to new moms, to the moms out there, take control of yourself and don't be a slave.

You're the only person that can change things for you.

Like I said, take time and reflect. Be alone, go right down, take out a piece of paper, write down the things that you're grateful for. Write down these struggles. Recognize the things that you're a slave to and just say no more,

I will not be a slave to that fattening food or that alcohol,

or the attention in my relationship,

or whatever it is.

Being so needy, whatever it is that you're a slave to.

So, this week here's what I challenge you to do, whatever you've been a slave to. If you keep on waking up every day saying today is going to be the day, start that diet.

I'm going to start eating right and then my buddy Ryan Stewman, my mentor calls it, "The force of average starts beating down on you", and you start to really feel like that's the right thing to do.

You don't want to have a drink, doing whatever it is at that vices, it's comfortable for you. You don't want to go down that road.

So, do it any way that's what today is all about. Don't be a slave in slavery right now and take control of your own destiny.

So, it's Monday get fired up, go kick ass this week. I just want to say, I have helped a lot of my clients, entrepreneurs start to develop this do it anyway mindset.

And the crazy thing is, whatever you're selling something, I don't care if you're selling a gym membership, life insurance, cars, sales training, or you're on the phone selling or in person.

Whatever you have in mind, set a do it anyway mindset and to take action. You can be a lot better coach. Coaching is a lot like selling. My style of selling is to be a coach and an authority figure so you can have the confidence to tell someone how it is.

If you're the person that won't do it anyway, you don't take action, you want to invest in yourself.

How do you intend to get someone else to? That's my question for you.

Alright guys, so do it anyway this week. If you're interested in me coaching you on how to use Facebook and Instagram to blow up your business. And create a sales funnel that creates an unlimited flow of customers that are ready to buy from you, hit me up.

I'm taking on a few extra clients, shoot me a message about that. Go and kill it this week, do it anyway, don't be a slave.
