Is TikTok really not for you? This might change your mind.
May 15, 2020I talked about TikTok last year and if you missed my blog then, you can read it here.
FYI, TikTok isn’t a new platform; it’s a platform with new energy!
You may have seen a surge of TikTok videos on your Facebook and Instagram feeds, especially during this COVID-19 saga.
But before you tell yourself, "TikTok isn't for me", read this first.
TikTok isn't just an app to show off your dancing or acting skills, it holds so much potential for your brand and business!
As of today, TikTok has:
⦁ already surpassed 2 billion download mark on both iOS and Android combined
⦁ has 1.5 billion users and 800 million active monthly users
⦁ has an average usage report of 52 minutes spent on TikTok/day
⦁ surpassed the likes of Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and Snapchat in Q3 2019 App Store and Google Play installs
⦁ an average engagement rate of 29%
Few additional facts about TikTok users:
⦁ Majority of the TikTok users are men
⦁ 60% of the app’s monthly active users in the U.S. are 16- to 24- year-olds
⦁ Only 4% of U.S. social media marketers use the platform
If you are in the martial arts, jiu jitsu, fitness, or businesses targeting the younger demographics- don't you think this app holds so much potential?
↝ DON'T JUST AIM TO BE #TikTokFamous
Get on TikTok and be the first in your area to be not just #TikTokFamous but someone who actually adds value in there for your niche. CONSISTENCY IS THE KEY!
↝ EXPANDING YOUR REACH
Very much like Instagram, add a combination of niche hashtags, as well as general ones to your TikTok videos. This will help make your video stand out in the smaller hashtags and rank up higher on the bigger ones. The more users engage with your video, the more chances of your videos getting discovered.
Here's a TikTok video of me cooking a 'lockdown Pho'!
But my video with the highest views to date was my 'Make that basic wine Boujie!' with 135,000 views. Insane, right?!
Check it out.
